Ellis Island Sound
London multi-instrumentalists Peter Astor and David Sheppard cite "starry nights, Suffolkian backwoods, and gaps in the schedule" as the influences behind their brew of avant-folk and electro-organic post-rock. Delusions of Adequacy describe their sound as "a mini-orchestra of acoustic guitars, digital/analogue drum machines, 70s synths, and antique Atari computers".
Since the project's formation in 1997, the duo have released a handful of seven inches, 2002's self-titled compilation of singles and remixes, and a pair of EPs ("Home Service" in 2003 and "Gene Pool" in 2006). The debut full length, The Good Seed, was released in February 2007 on London's Peacefrog Records.
David can also be found plying his trade in Phelan Sheppard, Keiron Phelan & David Sheppard, State River Widening, Phelan Sheppard / Niandra Ladies, Smile Down Upon Us, and Continental Film Night, among others.
